GTU Admissions Directors' Meeting

Some of you will remember that the ELCA Seminary Admissions Directors met in Gettysburg last month for our Annual Meeting. This month is the Annual Meeting of the GTU Admissions Directors and it is right here on PLTS's campus. Our main order of business is the planning of the (first ever) joint visitation weekend. That's right! All of the schools of the GTU will coordinate a visit weekend so that you who are considering more than one GTU seminary will have the opportunity to visit all of them at the same time. Worship, meals, presentations, discernment conversations, and social activities will be planned together. Contact the Admissions Office of your favorite GTU school (it better be PLTS!) for more information!

PreviewPLTS and Board Meeting

The first weekend in November was a busy time on campus! We had 14 prospective students on campus as well as the 25 members of the PLTS Board of Directors. Coordinated events included a barbecue, Vespers, Compline, a cocktail party, and informal conversation time. Both groups of people, together with current students, faculty, and staff, say that it was a great introduction to other facets of the seminary community! For privacy reasons, we'll leave off pictures of our prospective students. But, to the left is a picture of Dr. Judy Larsen, the Rev Bob Quam, Dr. Herbert Anderson, and Dr. Jonathan Stranjord. And, to the right is a picture of Bishop Chris Boerger and President Katy Grindberg of the PLTS Student Association. (The Yellow Hats are now Standard Issue for the Board!)

Post-wedding aside

As I mentioned, I won't normally include personal activities on the Admissions Center blog. But, So many people have asked for a picture from the wedding, I thought I'd include one. Check back next week for an update on the most recent PreviewPLTS weekend!
